Disclaimer: InSphero guarantees that in all plates shipped all wells destined to be filled contained microtissues when packed for transport. This is confirmed via optical scans of each plate shipped. On rare occasions during transport, a few microtissues may be damaged. InSphero uses a protective packaging system to minimize microtissue loss due to shipping and handling and guarantees ā„ 95% of microtissues will be available for use upon arrival at customer site.

Q: When do I get my Microtissues?
A: We produce 3D InSightā¢ Human Liver Microtissues every week. (Check the Liver Microtissue Production Schedule for upcoming production runs.)Ā Order based on our production schedule, our customer service team will contact you by email to notify you of the next shipping date.Ā
Q: How do you ship?
A: We ship our Human Liver Microtissues in InFloatā¢ System that maintains the microtissue functionality and integrity perfectly. The transport method depends on the destination country.Ā
Typically, the Human Liver Microtissues ship via companies such as Fedex, UPS, and DHL or direct commercial airline flights such as Swiss. When you place your order, please choose an appropriate ship-to address and contact name so the microtissues will be delivered promptly to your lab.
Q: Where are the 3D Human Liver Microtissues produced?
A:Ā The microtissues are produced in our production facility in Schlieren, Switzerland outside of Zurich.
Q: What is the difference between the variants TOX, INF, and AF media?
A: These are different variants of Human Liver Maintenance Medium, all serum-free and designed to support safety assessments.
3D InSightā¢ TOX Liver Medium
- Purpose: Standard medium supporting phase I metabolism for small molecule safety assessments for 4 weeks of culture.
- Characteristics: Contains dexamethasone, high glucose, and high insulin

3D InSightā¢ INF Liver Medium
- Purpose: Optimized for enhanced immuno-competency, though with reduced phase I metabolism after extended culture time.
- Characteristics: Same base as TOX medium (high glucose and high insulin), but without dexamethasone.

3D InSightā¢ AF (Advanced Formula)
- Purpose: Primarily for contingency purposes, replaced in standard services by TOX Liver medium

Q: Will I receive a shipment tracking number?
A: If the microtissues ship via Fedex, UPS, or DHL you will receive a tracking number.Ā If the shipment travels via a direct commercial flight you will receive a notification of departure and scheduled arrival date.Ā InSphero monitors the shipment until delivery.Ā
Q: What should I do with the Microtissues upon arrival?
A: Open the outer box and retrieve the temperature logger from the internal microtissue box.Ā Press Start/Stop button on the monitor to view confirmation that the appropriate temperature was maintained during transport.Ā Change the media upon arrival or place the microtissues in a 37ā°C incubator until you can change the media.
